Subfloor adhesive that guns in the cold
Floor squeaks start where a panel lifts off a joist. Our subfloor and deck construction adhesive bonds the sheet to the lumber across the whole bearing surface, so screws hold a panel that is already glued tight, and the floor stays quiet for the life of the house.
The extreme-temperature formula guns easily from 20 to 100 degrees F and bonds to wet, frozen, engineered and treated lumber, which is why it meets the APA AFG-01 specification that subfloor installation calls for.

Heavy Duty, the original cartridge
The tan bead that started it all. Heavy Duty construction adhesive is a low-solvent, high-strength formula that bonds the heaviest building materials, bridges gaps up to 3/8 in., resists impact after it cures, and holds up to moisture and temperature swings indoors and out.
One 10 oz cartridge runs about 31 linear feet of 1/4 in. bead; the 28 oz cartridge runs 88. Certified by UL Environment to the GREENGUARD Gold standard as a low-emitting material.

What is the difference between the Liquid Nails construction adhesive products?
Heavy Duty (LN-903) is the multi-purpose cartridge for plywood, OSB, drywall, brick veneer and treated lumber indoors and out. Extreme Heavy Duty (LN-907) adds strength and bonds in extreme temperatures. Fuze*It (LN-2000) is a hybrid polymer that bonds nearly every material, including metal, glass, tile and mirrors. Subfloor & Deck (LN-902, LN-602) is formulated for wet and frozen lumber and squeak-free floors. Interior Projects, Projects & Foamboard and Paneling & Molding are low-odor latex formulas for finished rooms. Tub Surround (LN-715) is made for plastic and fiberglass shower panels. Landscape Block (LN-905), Concrete & Mortar Repair and Roof Repair are the exterior specialists.
How do I prepare surfaces before applying Liquid Nails adhesive?
Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dust, grease, frost and loose paint. Wipe sawdust off lumber and let pressure-washed concrete dry. Cut the cartridge tip at a 45 degree angle to the bead size the job calls for, usually 1/4 in., puncture the inner seal, and load the caulk gun. Run the bead in a zigzag on one surface, press the pieces together within the working time printed on the tube, and brace or fasten until the bond sets. Subfloor & Deck is the exception that bonds to wet and frozen lumber.
Can Liquid Nails adhesives be used for exterior projects?
Yes. Heavy Duty, Extreme Heavy Duty, Fuze*It, Subfloor & Deck, Landscape Block, Concrete & Mortar Repair, Roof Repair, Clear Seal and Super Caulk are all rated for interior and exterior use and resist water and weather after curing. Interior Projects, Paneling & Molding, Projects & Foamboard, the drywall adhesives and Tub Surround are interior formulas.
How long does it take for Liquid Nails adhesive to set and cure?
Most of our construction adhesives grab within minutes and give 10 to 20 minutes of working time to adjust the piece. Fasteners or bracing should stay in place for 24 hours. Full cure takes 24 hours to 7 days depending on the formula, the temperature, humidity and the porosity of the materials; Fuze*It reaches full cure in 12 to 24 hours. Caulks are paintable in about an hour.
Is Liquid Nails adhesive easy to clean up if it gets on an unintended surface?
While the bead is still wet, latex formulas (Interior Projects, Paneling & Molding, Projects & Foamboard, Super Caulk) clean up with water, and solvent-based formulas (Heavy Duty, Subfloor & Deck) clean up with mineral spirits. Once cured, construction adhesive has to be softened with heat or a citrus-based remover and scraped. Our how-to on removing adhesive walks through both.
Is construction adhesive the same thing as Liquid Nails?
