Shower panels are thin, light and translucent, and they take steam every morning. Our tub surround adhesive is built for exactly that: it will not burn through or warp plastic and fiberglass, it resists heat and steam, and its light color never shows through the panel.

Tub Surround and Shower adhesive (LN-715) bonds polystyrene, plastic and fiberglass tub and shower surrounds securely to drywall, cement board and plaster. Ordinary solvent construction adhesive can soften a thin ABS or polystyrene panel; this formula is specially made so it will not burn through, and it cures to a bond that withstands bathroom heat and steam for the long term. The bright white, low-odor formula is low VOC and ideal for occupied homes, and it can double as tub caulk at the panel edges.
LN-915 is the high-strength acrylic version of the same tube, safe for most fiberglass and plastic units, with excellent water resistance. Both are sold as single cartridges and in 4, 6, 12 and 24 packs for remodelers who hang surrounds every week.
Dry-fit the panel, apply a 1/4 in. bead in a serpentine pattern across the back and around the edges, press in place, pull away for a minute to let the adhesive flash, then press firmly and brace for 24 hours.
Liquid Nails Tub Surround is a construction adhesive formulated for one specific application: bonding lightweight plastic and fiberglass panels to drywall and cement board in a bathroom. A general Liquid Nails heavy duty adhesive bonds wood, lumber, drywall, brick veneer and board on interior and exterior projects, but its solvent can soften a thin panel. Tub Surround is low VOC, light in color, durable in steam and water resistant after curing, with coverage of about 30 linear feet per 10 oz cartridge.
Like every Liquid Nails product it is sold at hardware stores, building centers and home centers throughout the United States, carries the GREENGUARD Gold standard for low emissions, and is designed to deliver exceptional, precision placement for builders and homeowners alike. Bonding a surround is a weekend job with the right adhesive and a challenging one with the wrong caulk; this is the right one.
No. Heavy Duty is solvent based and can burn through thin plastic panels. Use Tub Surround LN-715 or LN-915, which are formulated not to attack polystyrene and fiberglass.
Let the adhesive cure 24 hours before caulking the seams and 48 to 72 hours before running water on the panels.
No. LN-715 is light colored so it does not bleed or shadow through thin or translucent surrounds.
