Which Liquid Nails should I use?

Match the tube to the material and the location. Plywood, OSB, drywall, brick veneer and treated lumber inside or out: Heavy Duty. Metal, glass, tile, stone, mirrors or mixed materials: Fuze*It. A subfloor or deck: Subfloor & Deck. Trim and paneling in a finished room: Paneling & Molding. Rigid foam insulation: Projects & Foamboard. Plastic or fiberglass shower panels: Tub Surround. Wall caps and stone: Landscape Block. Our how-to on choosing a formula has the full table.

How long does Liquid Nails take to dry?

Grab happens within minutes; working time is 10 to 20 minutes depending on the formula; braces or fasteners stay 24 hours; full cure is 24 hours to 7 days depending on temperature, humidity and how porous the materials are. Fuze*It cures in 12 to 24 hours.

Will it stick to anything?

Fuze*It bonds nearly everything to everything except polyethylene and polypropylene. The other formulas are tuned for specific materials; the list of what each one bonds and what it is not recommended for is on every product page.

Does construction adhesive get hard?

It cures firm but stays flexible, which is what lets the bond move with lumber, drywall and decking without cracking. A bead that has cured rock hard is usually one that was applied too thin or too cold.

Is it waterproof?

Heavy Duty, Extreme, Fuze*It, Subfloor & Deck, Landscape Block, Roof Repair, Clear Seal and Super Caulk are waterproof and weatherproof after curing. Interior latex formulas resist water but are not for exterior exposure.

How do I get it off my hands or a surface?

Wet adhesive: water for latex formulas, mineral spirits for solvent formulas. Cured adhesive on skin wears off with soap, warm water and petroleum jelly over a day or two. Cured adhesive on a surface softens with heat from a heat gun or a citrus-based remover and scrapes off; see the removal how-to.

Where do I buy, and what if a tube arrives damaged?

The buy button on each product page opens the listing on the partner store. A damaged or wrong item is replaced through the order page of that store; keep the packaging and the order number.
